Texas Carnival Glass Club 40th Anniversary Convention
March 20-23, 2019

The 2019 convention in summary:

The Texas club 40th anniversary convention is in the books.  Attendance was noticeably up, rooms were active, the hallways were buzzing, and from the standpoint of this attendee .... a good time was had by all.  Club officers and members worked overtime to put this convention together, and were successful in their efforts.  From two outstanding education seminars, one presented by Tom Bumpass and the other presented by Cal Hackeman, to the Banquet presentation of the most magnificent display of Millersburg Glass attendees ever have had the priviledge of seeing presented by Bo and Randy Jones ... it was a wonderful convention.  Several first time convention attendees and first time Texas convention attendees joined the fun.

At the banquet Carl and Eunice Booker were recipients of the prestigious "Whitley Award" for their years of outstanding contributions to every facet of the world of carnival glass collecting.  Educators as a vocation they have spent most of their adult lives educating collectors regarding carnival glass, served as club officers, written articles, made countless convention presentations, and simple been friends to one and all in this hobby.  their award was warmly received by attendees.

Another bit of excitement at the banquet was the distribution to attendees of beautiful TCGC 40th  Anniversary vases made for this event from Imperial's 474 vase mold.  Of course their were some whimseys made as well that were auctioned at the banquet drawing lots of attention.  And as previously indicated a warm and wonderful presentation of extraordinary Millersburg glass by Bo and Randy.

The Seeck auction on Sarurday morning was well attended, some new treasures for the successful bidders, and a nice closure for the 40th Anniversary Texas Carnival Glass Club convention.
